On [July 7, 2020] WestPark issued an RFP to create one of the first smart office campuses in the nation. While we already have two beautiful, Gold LEED, modern buildings, we’re thinking ahead. The idea is to meet 21st century demands in terms of sustainability, energy conservation, health and wellness, security, connectivity and workforce attraction. The object of the RFP is to reimagine the buildings and campus to be a place where innovation and creativity will thrive.
WestPark’s new smart campus will serve as a hub of connectivity for a global workforce, and will catapult WestPark as among the nation’s first smart corporate office campuses, one that rivals some of the most technically advanced buildings in the world.
But we’re also thinking Bigger Picture.
As Westchester County’s biotech and tech sectors continue to blossom, the chance to position and develop WestPark as the linchpin of an “Innovation Corridor” along I-287 – that will attract companies in New York City’s burgeoning tech and financial sectors, as well as others nationally – is very real.
The effect will be to retain and expand the county’s young professional workforce, invigorate and stimulate flexible ways of doing business, and encourage more research and development.
To that end, WestPark Associates will work actively to encourage the development of and use of autonomous transportation, both on its campus, in its neighborhood, and beyond. This will play into the vision we have of creating Westchester County’s first “Innovation Corridor.” That, too, is part of our RFP.
As we move forward, we’ll be talking more about the Innovation Corridor, as well as sustainability, energy conservation, health and wellness, connectivity and other subjects in future blogs.
